Title: John ELLIOTT christened 27/4/1803 at Ellesmere
Post by: liverpool5 on Wednesday 15 July 15 11:04 BST (UK)
Has anyone got this person in their family tree?  I am wondering if he is my ancestor who came to London (married 1829).  If anyone can prove one way or the other I would be grateful. Thank you.

the christening record shows Robert and Jane as his parents

does the 1929 marriage show the father of the groom as Robert ??
where and who did he marry in 1829

Hi Garstonite,  Thanks for your reply.  It's a little tricky as I am really working on a process of elimination.  My John Elliott married Sarah Early at St George, Hanover Square, Westminster on 25/9/1829.  As it was an early marriage there was no mention of father's name.  He only appears on the 1841 census which only gives the clue that he wasn't born in the County - that County being Middlesex.  Their first child was named Robert, so that is why we picked out the John Elliott from Ellesmere, as he was the only John with a father Robert.  The name Robert doesn't appear anywhere in the Early family names.

By the way.  There is another John Elliott born to a Robert in Burnley, but we have tracked him through the census and married, so we know this is not the one.
