Helen,James,John,Robert did have James as their father. Robert & James junior married later as did Helen & John ended up in the poor house. So Who the heck can Mary be?......It is a puzzle
James Senior was married to Helen Campbell & noone has found where they are buried or death records, Helen might have married a Mr Bell before.
Any help or pointers appreciated. Thanks

Possibly another child not living at home in 1841 was the parent of Mary? Presumably another son as she has the same surname.
Then again she could also have belonged to daughter Helen who had her before she married.
Any possible entries for Mary 17 in 1851? I agree 1841 can be a peril.

The 1841 census did not note relationships to the head of the household.
So, she may be a niece? Or even not directly related, but with a similar surname? ???
