Mary Weddell Black, born New Monkland about 1821, married first John Craig by whom she had two daughters, Jane b 1838/9 and Joanna b 1841. John Craig then died and in 1849 Mary married John Noble, by whom she had seven of a family.
She died in 1884 at the Free Kirk Manse, Muirkirk, Ayrshire and the death was registered by her son James B Noble of London.
I wonder why she was in Muirkirk? Could the minister or his wife have been a relative? Does anyone know anything about him?
For the avoidance of duplication of effort, there is more information about this family in an earlier thread at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=642218.0

Thank you. That would make sense - he must have been some sort of relative on Mary's husband's side.

It looks like he was the first minister of the free church, he was certainly there from 1851.
I do not think they had any children, I think they married in Edinburgh.

Thank you.
Robert Noble was Mary's brother-in-law, the younger brother of her husband John Noble. So I think that answers my question very satisfactorily.
