Title: Turner, Charles of Crayford Kent 20th cent.
Post by: jantone52 on Monday 27 July 15 19:42 BST (UK)
I am keen to find descendants of Mr CHARLES TURNER of Crayford, Kent who presented a silver cup in 1920 for a football charity competition called THE LIVINGSTONE HOSPITAL CHARITY SHIELD (also known as the TURNER SHIELD). He remained a constant ambassador for local football.

It may be a coincidence, but during the 1920's there was a CHARLES (Charlie) TURNER who lived in Wilmington, Kent and had great interest in the Wilmington T.A.S. Football team (Total Abstainers Society) and acted as their honarary secretary - could this be the same person?

I am not connected to the family but am researching local football in the Dartford area and this includes the TURNER SHIELD / LIVINGSTONE SHIELD Competition.

I am really keen to find a photograph of Mr Charles TURNER. If anyone is able to help in this matter I will be very pleased to hear from you. Thank you, Tony Brown, Dartford, Kent.
