Hello
Lucy Watkins, the illegitimate child of William Watkins and Ann Abraham was born in Neath in 1828.
She can be found in the 1841 and 1851 census living with her family
In the 1861 census, she is apparently married, her surname being Parker.
There is a marriage in 1853 of a Lucy Watkins and John Parker, this must be them.
What has confused me is that John is absent on the 1861 census, so I don't have an age for him and more interesting is that Lucy disappears from the census after 1861.
I also cannot find a death record for her
I would appreciate it if someone could assist in finding out what happened to her.
It is possible she remarried, as there is a marriage in Norfolk to Peter Seaman in 1870, but I am not certain.
thanks

Any children? Where was she living in 1861?
Haven't you looked up the 1871 entry for Peter Seaman to compare details? There is a Parker child but Lucy's details do not match what you have given so you may have the wrong Parker marriage

Lucy parker the hawker is in trouble with the police in Carmarthen in 1860 - http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4350884/4350889/31/ - and possibly also for wounding in 1865 in Neath - http://newspapers.library.wales/view/3094502/3094508/41/

thanks Mabel good find
Looks like Lucy was a bit of a troublemaker, not the first Watkins family member to get involved with the police.
Still no idea of why she isn't on later censuses, maybe she stayed in Camarthan

Hi again, the other marriage you may possibly wish to check out is the one mentioned earlier of Lucy Watkins September qtr 1861 Neath 11a 547 but to whom?
Also the Levy Watkins on the 1861 registration was not the 1871 Levy he married Phebe 1859 Merthyr Tydfil?
Looking again at registration original possibly Levy/Lucy same person?

PS how do you know the 1861 census Lucy Parker was married to a John?
EDIT OK John Parker did marry a Lucy Watkins, as checked other couple out, John Bowen & Jennet Davies in 1861/71 they look to be them.

Hi all can someone please help me fathom the September qtr 1861 Neath 11a 547 marriage registration of Lucy Watkins and Mary Julia Hoar, is the male really Levy or an incorrectly transcribed Lucy?
But above all, who did they both marry?

The handwritten index for "Lucy" certainly says "Levy"
For those reading this but not knowing how to do it . . . . .
