Not a silly question at all - people were often known as different names from those they were baptised with (Grizel becomes Grace; Agnes becomes Nancy or Ann; Janet becomes Jessie etc).  In this case I would have thought that someone baptised as Christie could have used the names Christina or Christian, but not usually Catherine.  Are you sure it's the same person?  Could there have been a child that died called one name, then another born shortly after who had the other name?
