Haven't been able to find a manifest so far from Liverpool :-\

Allan, why do you think the Ross group were from Ross & Cromarty? They may also not be linked you understand as group... Without the manifest, hard to see where specifically they were from and their connection to each other.

Hi Monica
I have no idea if they were from that area but I thought it's worth a try.
So far when I have discovered any information about a group with a surname, they have proved to be the same family, though I do realise that will not always be the case. Might even be two groups of the same family.
When you only have names and no place of origin its almost impossible to find people using convential methods. I can only raise the public profile and hope somebody is missing a branch of their tree.
So that's what I am doing, just shaking the tree.
Thanks for your interest.

Allan, I can see now what you are doing...which is always amazing to see :)
Will try again to see the links as a group or other for the Ross names. Saw two Alexanders for example. Thought maybe father and son. Haven't got much further with that.
Let's see what other people can see with this ;)

There were numerous Rosses migrating to the USA and Canada in the mid-19th Century; my tree has several people who ended up in Pictou, Nova Scotia, but I'm afraid to say the names of the missing family members from north-west Sutherland don't fit your search
