Title: John Parsons of Stalbridge

This query relates to two John Parsons, probably father and son. I have two unresolved marriages for them.

1. John (1)  b c 1670. With his  "partner" Edith had 7 children, all registered at Stalbridge between 1696 and 1707, including John b 1700 (noted as son of John and Edith). Who was Edith and when/where were they married?

2 John (2)  had seven children with his "partner" Eleanor, all registered at Stalbridge as children of John and Eleanor. Their youngest child was John (1732). Who was Eleanor and when/where were they married.

Can anyone please help as to how i can proceed. I have referred to "A*" Parish records and freereg in gathering the above info.

I understand that at least one parish register for Stalbridge may have gone missing at some time.

Seventeen months on and no positive response so I am "refreshing" this one as it has probably dropped below everyone's radar. Here's hoping for something this time.

Have you asked the Stalbridge OPC for any checks?

There are links to some early marriage records (1694-1799) which might help with the second John.
