I am researching my paternal line which has led me to Falkirk. My 3x great grandfather, Andrew Mackechnie (Surgeon 69th Regt. and Royal Staff Corps) was born Falkirk 06 Oct 1779 to (90% sure) Robert McKechnie (sic) b 1745, and Mary Easton b 1745, m 1772. There were siblings and I know there were Mackechnie/McKechnie's in Falkirk for some time following. May well still be some there.
