Looking for any information on the McAlisters of Campbeltown/Southend/ Knapdale in the 19th century.

To try and help here...
Can you add some more details on particular family groups (names etc) that you are interested in for this period. Will help people who may have the same lines know it is the right family lines.
Guess you have what you need on your McAlister line for this period and are looking to make contact with other McAlister researches in the area/period.

The only information I have is that Helen McAlister married William Wilson. She was born in 1843 possibly in Campbeltown. Her father and mother were Archibald and Janet. From other information I know that her (Wilson) family lived in Southend but the children were born in various areas of Kintyre so I'm guessing that they moved about a bit.

What details showed on that 1861 marriage for William and Helen? Her parents' names you mention as Archibald and Janet? What was Archibald's occupation? Were both parents alive at the time of her 1861 marriage? Names of witnesses?
