Finally found them in 1851 and there is a 3yr old Margaret b Parr. In 1861 she is indexed as First and is a servant not with her family

Margaret snr is a widow in 1851 so in the absence of an 1861 entry under Twist you need to consider the 1853 and 1858 marriages on freebmd in the Prescot RD

You can rule out both those marriages as both Margaret's were spinsters

I can't find a marriage for Margaret Twist and William Fell 1851-1861

Do you think they didnt marry just changed names?
Martha was born after Peter died so although named Twist could be William Fell's daughter.

:) I think Margaret just "took his name" and had 3 children by him, she reverts to Twist in 1871 possibly due to the family they are living with, and then regained the Fell name due to being with her Son in Law, in both 1871 & 1881 their is if I recall a Millington connection?!

Back again! Now the gro has added MMN i tried looking for the birth reference for the children of Margaret and William but with no joy!
in 1861 William Fell, Martha Fell and Mary Fell
in 1871 William Twist, Martha Twist and Mary Twist
tried looking under Fell and Twist!
as previously mentioned Martha was married as Martha Fell
