It is my understanding that the church records for the Parish of Tydavnet, Monaghan are held both at PRONI in Belfast and somewhere in Co. Monaghan. My question is would both these records be the exact same, or would one area have more entries then the other. I only want to view the Church of Ireland records for the Parish of Tydavnet, so I'm not sure where I should go to get the best chance of discovering more about my ancestors. My time in Ireland will be limited, therefore trying to plan this trip. Also if Co. Monaghan would be better to visit for my research, where exactly in Monaghan, would these records be kept. My ancestors were from Tullygony and Rafeenan. Any advice will be appreciated. :)

Thanks Tara, but already checked Rootsireland and at the moment they do not have any Church of Ireland records for the Parish of Tydavnet, Monaghan.

This gives you information PRONI holds http://www.proni.gov.uk/index_to_church_of_ireland_records-2.pdf

This might help http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/irish-church-records.html

Do you have a particular period to search?
-
My period to search is from 1800 when I believe my 3x Great Grandfather was born and then continue as far as I can go through the 1800's so I can try and find out the usual birth, marriage and death dates for his 6 children (one being my 2 x Great Grandfather).

TEDAVNET, CO. MONAGHAN details
Tedavnet sits on the NW corner of Monaghan civil parish itself
from PRONI online church records guide

Baptisms, 1822-98;
marriages, 1822-1950;
burials, 1822-1906.
Baptisms, 1898-;

preachers’ books, 1858-.
MIC1/246 {who and when made the microfilm eg PRONI or Familysearch.org?}
In local custody
That phrase in local custody means in the church itself or its vicarage, in my experience it does not mean the same records, the only way to be certain is the local church contact

I have run out of time do please if you haven’t already look this up it will describe how large the properties are, and the house valuation may tell you something Howver to get an image of ones homestead is worth patience galore and then to study that on google satellite or streetscene gets to you.
I also checked without success http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/monaghan/photos/tombstones/monaghan-new-tednavet/target1.html
I assume you checked the irish census 1901 and 1911 for Graham and millar/miller living in Tedavnet
Have you contacted Tydavnet Historical Society eg Twitter https://twitter.com/TydavnetHisSoc or email tydavnethistsoc@gmail.com.
However next search needs to be for when relatives lived in Rafeenan
as I finish i spot your current Graham contribution
So hopefully something was new for you
Good Luck

If I'm not mistaken then these are Elizabeth3's Martins.... you could do worse than read her posts even if she hasn't been online for a long time!!
Plus a Search on Co Monaghan on Rootschat for Martin and Graham could be revealing !!

Tydavnet records start 1822... on microfilm at RCB in Dublin
