Title: WD&HO Wills tobacco factory
Post by: Milliepede on Tuesday 27 October 15 09:40 GMT (UK)
Wondering if anyone knew if there were any books or booklets about the history of this company particularly the one in Swindon sadly now demolished.  Family members worked there for many years.

Thank you  :)

Try it this way:

http://www.wdandhowills.com/swindon-factory.html

(corrected spelling! ;D )

I used to work at was once No 1 Factory, Bedminster, Bristol - but only after it had become office for Imperial Group Ltd.
Imperial Group owned Imperial Tobacco, who in turn owned WD & HO Wills and John Player's.

At that time we employees still received a free, weekly, tobacco allowance.
I didn't smoke, so my father-in-law received 40 Regal King Size every week, gratis!

Thanks well spotted I hadn't noticed that  ;D

Yes my father used to get an allowance too but didn't smoke so gave them to his brother!
