Hi all
This is really an appeal to those people who seem to be expert at finding names which are variants of the required one!
I am trying to find Francis Elsworth who was born in the March Quarter of 1878 in West Heslerton.
He appears on the 1881 census with his parents John Ellis Elsworth and Hannah (nee Wilson) at Carr House, West Heslerton, North Yorks.;
He appears again with the same family in 1891, in the same place;
I cannot find him anywhere after this.
However ...
I do know that in 1911 his parents are still alive and they note that they have had four children, three of whom were still alive. Having tracked the other three siblings - John Wilson Elsworth, Herbert Elsworth and Isabel Elsworth into the 1911 census, it makes sense that the missing/dead child MUST be Francis.
As I can't find him anywhere in 1901 I am presuming that he has died between 1891 and 1901 - but again, I cannot find a death.
I've tried Francis, Frank, Elsworth, Ellsworth but all to no avail.
Can anyone please help me out here?
