Hoping for some assistance to locate the birth/baptism of Catherine Lyons b abt 1854 Mayo to John Lyons & Winifred Meehan. ???
Catherine immigrated to Australia and the above information has been collated from her immigration and death records.

Annagh RC parish might be a possibility. There is the following potential sibling baptised as Martin on 22 February 1860 with parents recorded as John Lyons and Winifred Meehan and sponsors James and Honor Lyons (right page, not quite halfway down page):

Hello Gaffy
If you could see me I am smiling out of pure pleasure. That is Catherine and yes her brother Martin as well. Superb. :) [Shame there isn't an icon for ecstatic!]
Thank you so much.

So as to Catherine???? ;D

I haven't found Catherine, per reply #1 I posted this possible sibling (possible on the basis of the parents' names, county and timeframe), to alert you of the possibility of the location of Catherine being in Annagh RC parish.

Ahh! I was having a slow moment there so apologies :-\

While not saying "Do it yourself!" you are really better off going through the registers for yourself to get an image of the Lyons... maybe a spreadsheet with just year in a column, then go through registers for any BDM's, IF deaths are there then they might have age, so birth year can be figured out, (not always correct!) but then a "Sort" can get them in a timeline and then you can get marriage/children etc... plus there could be other siblings!!
Someone else may just get the 2 you named...as it takes quite a bit of time!

Yes definitely: just what I have been doing and yes it takes quite some time but that's the deal with Family History. I just got a little excited and then thought I must have imagined things as I couldn't see Catherine. ::)

I think if amount is shown against record that the families are related,i have seen this on marriage records. These records are taken from a site I use.
Martin Lyons by 1901 is living in Townland of Culnacleha Parish Annagh Co Mayo. I have found a marriage in 1885 married to a Mary Mcgarry, his father is listed as John Lyons a farmer. By 1911 he has remarried with a young family.
I do see there is a well documented Tree On Ancestry with records from Catherine and some siblings in Australia, have you connections?

I posted a link at reply #1 to a specific NLI RC record for the baptism of Martin Lyons on 22 Feb 1860 in Annagh RC parish which I think may be relevant, could you provide the links to the others? I struggled to find them with my eyes. :-\

I didn't get the details from the Nli records I subscribe to Irish Family History records site and found them on that.
I agree it is very difficult to read the Nli records

Hello dathai
Thanks so much for that: you must have wonderful eyes. :o I'm afraid mine aren't terribly good...
From what I know there are still 2 children who have not been located. The first is their son James who may well have been born in 1847 according to his age at death. There is also Bridget and I nothing about her so far but in order of sequence she may have been the second born.
Currently there is a gap between when James was born about 1847 and Austin in 1952 so just maybe this is when Bridget was born.
It was the middle of the Potato Famine when James was born so just maybe Bridget was another casualty? I think they did remarkably to have kept the number of children alive as so many others died. :'(
