Title: My Mother.
Post by: millymolly2 on Monday 16 November 15 14:34 GMT (UK)
My mother served as a WAAF in WW2.

She got an Honourable Discharge due to being pregnant.

Have no other information about her service really.
I do know she was a driver.
Her name was Jessie Cooper and was born 1921. At the time she was called up, she lived in Morecambe, Lancashire.
She used to speak of a friend, Ann Dunwoody who I think came from Liverpool.

Any help appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Anne.

Did she get married  before you were born?   If you want to apply for her service record, then you will need to supply her maiden name, date of birth, place of birth.

I presume MOD hold WAAF records too. I don't remember if we have specifically discussed it on this board before.

I will move this topic to WW2 board.

Yes, WAAF records can be obtained from MOD in the usual way.
