I have been trying to find out more information on the life of my Great Aunt, one Priscilla Sturgis for some time now and need help.
In 1891 she was employed as a private nurse to one Thomas Everard (of the brewing family) in Leicester. Despite much cursing, I cannot find her on the 1901 census and since she lived till the grand old age of 96 (died in the 1950s), she should be there somewhere.
My only thought is that, since she was a nurse (I also have photos proving this), she may have been overseas and have been looking at the Boer War as a possible here.
I have no idea where I might find records that could prove or disprove this.
Does anyone else have similar ancestors that could help?
