Title: HIRON family of Westbury-on-Trym
Post by: James18 on Monday 21 December 15 22:15 GMT (UK)
Hi all,

Curious to know if any of you have any members of the HIRON family in your trees. It was originally given as HERON but this spelling seems to have died out in the 19th century. As far as I know, the similar variant HIRONS is unrelated and refers to a different family in another part of the country.

The family seem to originate in Somerset and Gloucestershire, with several records referring to events in Yatton and Alveston. Eventually my 'wing' of the family settled down in Westbury-on-Trym and most of the births, marriages and deaths of the 20th century are in the Bristol area.

Thanks,

James  ;)
