I am looking from my gr-gr grandfather, Owen jones born around 1825 in Dwyran. He was married to Mary Roberts (possibly 2nd wife). Children included Anne Ellin and Mary ( my relative). Thanks for any help.

would this be him on 1871 in Llangeinwen? there's a dwyran chapel in this village. Address looks like Tyddyn Hwrdd

Mary Jane Roberts 6 - niece, b Philadelphia

Can't see in 1891 yet but in 1901 he is still at Tyddyn Hwrdd, widowed, a carrier, with Ann Ellin and her husband David Griffiths and their children. Owen says b Newborough.

Hi Owenthomas, and welcome to RootsChat,
Assuming the family at Tyddyn Hwrdd, Llangeinwen in the 1881 census are your relatives
I have found the following in Anglesey BMD records which refer to them.
Birth registrations:
Ann Ellen - dau of Owen Jones and Mary Roberts, born 9 Jun 1874, Llangeinwen
Mary Anna - dau of Owen Jones and Mary Roberts, born 31 Aug 1870, Llangeinwen.
Deaths (all at Tyddyn Hwrdd, Llangeinwen):
Ann Jones, age 6 months, dau of Owen Jones - 7 Jun 1852, labourer. Informant Owen Jones.
Catherine Jones, age 11 months, dau of ostler & car driver Owen Jones - 7 Mar 1877. Informant Mary Jones, mother.
(male) Jones, age given as 5 minutes, son of agricultural labourer Owen Jones - 24 Sep 1868.
Mary Jones, 50, wife of agricultural labourer Owen Jones - 20 Jul 1882. Informant Owen Jones, widower.
Owen Jones, 18, son of agricultural labourer Owen Jones - 16 Aug 1867. Informant Mary Jones.
The following also died at Tyddyn Hwrdd and perhaps are earlier generations?
John Owen, stonemason, 68 - 18 Aug 1865. Informant John Jones, Pendref, Llangeinwen.
Mary Owen, widow of stonemason John Owen, 66 - 20 Apr 1866. Informant Margaret Hughes, Dwyran, Llangeinwen.
Owen Jones, farmer, 85 - 2 Apr 1845. Informant Owen Owens, Melinwen, Llangeinwen.
I have looked for the birth registrations of Owen Jones' other children:
Catherine - dau of Owen Jones and Mary Roberts, born 30 Mar 1876, Llangeinwen.
(male) - son of Owen Jones and Mary Roberts, born 24 Sep 1868, Llangeinwen.
The other two children were from Owen's first marriage:
Ann - dau of Owen Jones and Elizabeth Griffith, born 22 Dec 1852, Llangeinwen.
Owen - son of Owen Jones and Elizabeth Griffith, born 22 Dec 1848, Llangeinwen.
Marriages:
I can not find the marriage of Owen Jones and Mary Roberts - given Mary's place of birth they may have married in Caernarvonshire?
I can find a marriage between Owen Jones and Elizabeth Griffith(s) but it was at Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf, near the east coast of Anglesey and some distance from Llangeinwen:
Owen Jones, full age, bach., labourer of Dafarn Tywysog, son of John Owen, stonemason married Elizabeth Griffiths, full age, spin. of Tanydinas, dau of Edward Griffiths, labourer on 11 Jan 1848. Both signed by mark, the witnesses were Jonathan Thomas Evans and Griffith Griffiths.
Finally there was a death at Llangeinwen, but not at Tyddyn Hwrdd, as follows:
Elizabeth Jones, age 39, at Minffordd, Llangeinwen, wife of agricultural labourer Owen Jones on 4 Nov 1858. Informant Thomas Evans, Lleinian, Llangeinwen.
Hope this helps.

Given these I think you had better ignore the basket maker I found! Not sure why he was the only one showing up yesterday
1861 - Tyddyn Hwrdd

Mary Jones 28 - wife b Llandeiniolen
Owen Jones 12 - son b Llangeinwen
Hugh Griffith 87 - lodger b Llanfihangel, Anglesey

1851 - Tyddyn Hwrdd (Elizabeth's birthpalce seems to fit the suggested marriage above)
Owen Jones 28 - ag lab, b Newborough?
Elizabeth Jones 31 - b Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf,
Owen Jones 2
HO107, 2516, 358, 9
-
Death of Owen Jones - 8 May 1902, age 74, carrier of Tyddyn Hwrdd, Dwyran, Llangeinwen. Informant Ann Ellen Griffith, daughter, same address.

Thank you all for the very quick responses. I am amazed at how much information was found so quickly. I have a lot to learn about genealogy research.
-
The Llangeinwen parish register records the baptism
of Owen son of John & Mary Owen, farmer of Tafarn tussw on 16 Nov 1823.
Some of the 8 children of John & Mary Owen used the patronymic and some used
the surname. Their youngest son John Owen was born in 1840 and was my own great
grandfather.

I do have a question on some of the information. What is the occupation of an ostler? What does it mean when it says “Informant and a name”? Thank you
-
An ostler is someone who looks after horses
Informant [name] means that the person named was the one who went to register the death

Hello Owen Thomas
Apologies for the late response to your post on your G.G.Grandfather Owen Jones.
I'm am in possession of a collection of legal documents relating to Tyddyn Hwrdd in Dwyran covering the period 1882 to 1902. The papers belonged to my late Grandfather Robert Thomas Owen who seems to have either inherited or purchased Tyddyn Hwrdd in the early 1900's.
These papers are a mixture of Wills and Indentures (which I believe are loan aggreements).
These papers ramble on and on and far to lengthy to incorporate here but do include the fact that Owen Jones's father John Owen wrote his will on 14th August 1865 - this ties in with D

Sorry - having problems with my computer,
continue...
Owen Jones's father John Jones completed his will on 14th Aug 1865 (ties in with Dragon T's death recording). Beneficiaries being your Owen Jones and his brother Daniel Jones.
Also mentioned are Owen Jones and his wife Mary - Grandparents of your Owen Jones. This Owen Jones having died approximately 1844.
Unsure as to whether we have a family connection or that my Grandfather found these documents at Tyddyn Hwrdd when he moved in ?
