Hello,
Looking for birth details for Lawrence Mannion with approx birth year of  1836.  Of particular interest are any family members, i.e. Siblings, parents or other relations in this immediate area.  Trying to match up a family member, Mary Mannion, born approximately same time period in Galway. Mary, we're unsure of, her location, but Lawrence was from this area & later married Margaret Small (b: 1841 est) in the 1860's.  Addresses we have, House 10, Loughaunboy, Ahascragh, Castle Ffrench, Galway.
Any help is appreciated.
Thnx, Ann

If this is the right parish it doesn't look as though the baptisms are available for that time

I have only a bit of the info re: Lawrence’s daughter Margaret and her marriage to Martin Hopkins, plus their descendants, after she returned from America. I am in contact with Margaret’s grandson also named Martin Hopkins regarding a novel I am writing about her years in NYC. It’s purely historical fiction, though, as she didn’t talk much about that time, her grandson tells me.

My mother was a Manion and we recently visited Ireland for the Mannion Clan reunion in Galway. I learned about Margaret and her fateful trip on the Titanic just before that visit and have been planning since then. Her father died 8 months after she came to USA.

if you go through one of the search eng. and type in Margaret Mannion and the Titanic lots of information on her

You could write to one of the local papers in Loughanboy owing to the Titanic link.

great story.
