Isabella atkinson was living with son in law james small and daughter isabella small (nee atkinson)
Living at Hetton le hole. Isabella born 1779 approx and was married to william atkinson. Isabella died 1862, looking for her burial. maiden name Isabell turnbull. Durham record office has no account of her burial and nor does sunderland record office. Death was registered at Easington, under Houghton le spring. Hopefully she is buried at houghton le spring cemetary or hetton le hole cemetary. Any suggestions/help/advice please.

Isabella died 1862, looking for her burial. maiden name Isabell turnbull.
Have you actually bought this death certificate, to be positive its the right person? The reason I ask is because Durham Records Online are showing the burial of an Isabella Atkinson in Houghton le Spring District in 1862, and she is only 3 years old.

Death was registered at Easington, under Houghton le spring.
Easington and Houghton le Spring are separate Registration Districts. There's no 1862 death registered in Easington :-\
-
1861 has her as Isabella Aitcheson (age 85) :-\
(James Small married Isabella Aynsley/Ainsley in 1855 she has her son Robert age 20 with her in 1861.)
-
1861 has her as Isabella Aitcheson
Also Acheson in 1841 and Atchison in 1851 ::)

Isabella died in 1862,
Did you not read reply #2 - the Isabella Atkinson that died in 1862 in Houghton le spring was a small child.
There isn't another death that year for another Isabella Atkinson/Aitchison/etc
-
Could she have moved to Lancashire?

You didn't answer my question: have you got the 1862 death certificate?
-
Have you considered this one?
1864 Gateshead Isabella Atcheison Apr-Jun 10a /316
Durham Records Online free index has it as Isabella Atchison of High Turnpike Gate, born about 1766

Under England and Wales Death Registration 1837 2007, it records Isabella Atkinson's death in july-aug-sept 1862 Registration district- Houghton le spring. volume 10a, page 160, line number 30. Also on bmd is the death of isabella atkinson. sub registration district houghton
Isabella was baptised 7th may 1779.
-
You still haven't answered my question. Have you got that death certificate? If not, how do you know it is 'your' Isabella?
-
Where would we get a death certificate from? We need a rough idea of where she died, this is what we are trying to find out. Info we have is from bmd and family search
-
Certificates can be ordered online from www.gro.gov.uk
But, seeing as a burial has been found for an Isabella in that area at that time, and it was for a toddler, then it seems likely that this death was for her.

Just because you have found the death of an Isabella Atkinson, doesn't mean you can automatically assume that it's your Isabella.
There is only one death of an Isabella Atkinson in Houghton R.D. in 1862 - the one in the 3rd quarter. Durham Records Online only show one burial of an Isabella Atkinson in Houghton RD in the same year and this is a three year old child . It follows therefore that there is the strongest likelihood is that the death you assumed was your Isabella is in fact of this three year old child.
You need to look elsewhere I'm afraid.

Hi Rayaco
I was wondering what evidence you have that her surname is Atkinson - 1841, 51 & 61 have her as variations of Aitcheson/Acheson
1861 has her as Isabella Aitcheson
Also Acheson in 1841 and Atchison in 1851 ::)

At marriage her husband's surname was given as Atkinson :-\
WIlliam Atkinson married Isabella Turnbull at Heworth on 26th April 1800.

Thank you Jen ;D

Sent for death certificate from gro for Isabella and the gro cannot find one. 1871 census gives her daughter isabella small living in pittington, durham, on her own, as a shop keeper. So can't confirm isabella death after 1861. Could be possible she moved to gateshead area and died there in 1864?
