Title: Barton
Post by: hms racker on Friday 12 February 16 09:47 GMT (UK)
According to family member George Barton married Elizabeth Kerr and they had a daughter Margaret all this apprently happened in Bute - Kilmory.
This was said during a comversation with an elderly relative now dead.

I often wondered of there is any truth in it? Any Bartons in Kilmory?

Hi Ev

Tha's them I think. I did a little digging at first. I was wondering if there are any clues as to addresses for them at this time other than just parish etc?

No locations just the token "of this parish."

I peeked at Margaret's birth it states she was born at Lamlash Bay which is an area/region and where the kirk is but no details as to an actual place name.  Perhaps other births will be more specific.

Kilbride is one of the parishes on Arran ( the other is Kilmory). Lamlash was also known as Kirktown of Kilbride. This website may be of interest-  www.ayrshireroots.co.uk
