Title: Chorlton on Medlock Workhouse Graves
Post by: daisynook on Wednesday 17 February 16 17:21 GMT (UK)
I have an ancestor who died in Chorlton Union Workhouse 15 February 1902.  A earlier post found a creed register which suggested he was an infirmary patient, not an inmate but was admitted when ill.  Does anyone know if he would have been buried in Workhouse grounds or where to find if he was elsewhere?  His name was John Bartholomew McMullan b.1841

Hi,

I have checked the interment registers for the workhouse and there is no mention of John B McMullan also checking incase of mis-transcription any similar surnames.

As the creed register states he's Catholic, and he's not listed on the M/C burials website, he could be in St Joseph's Cemetery in Moston.  ???

Possibly Catholic church grounds where he lived?
