Thank you Groom for taking the trouble to reply. I do have the 1851 census info. and that is as far as I have got that is why I was looking for Liverpool information. I wonder if Gores Directory for Liverpool would be helpful and if so can I get any directories online.
Thanks again. I haven't been on RootsChat for a while so I hope that I am not doing things wrong. The last time I was here I was given a lot of help which is unsurprising as this is a very helpful group of people.

Thanks to Garstonite for pointing me in the direction of lancsbmd that is one for my really useful list. Also many thanks to Rolnora for the marriage at St. john Manchester, which also brings in the extra Wovenden line, I didn't have the 'confectioner' interest. The baptism at St.Peter's Priory Liverpool is also very interesting because this gets me to L.pool, which is where I was heading. My main interest is to track the family before 1851 when they settled in Manchester.
I know they had Irish connections but I expect I will never get that far.
Thanks again for all input.

Possible baptism for son Thomas:-
Church: St Nicholas RC Copperas Hill Liverpool

Mother's name: Joanna Ryley olim Sandon [Jane, maiden name was Sandon]

What can I say Blue but wow, I am sure that this is Thomas the younger brother. I have searched for a long time to get them to Liverpool and I think that this is it. I have never come across the name Sandon before, but maybe will find more now. I think St. Nicholas Ch. is the one sometimes considered parish Ch. I suppose this area would be a good place to carry on searching for a possible home address. Very grateful for the help that everyone has given.

No this is the Catholic St Nicholas church in Liverpool it is no longer there it was demolished. The St Nicholas at the Pier Head is the C of E parish church for Liverpool.

I've just noticed the interest in James Reilly. I have a tree for him on Ancestry, which I would be willing to share, and a blog about him and his work <jamesreillychairs.wordpress.com>. My tree does not go back much before 1851 but may have something of interest.
