morning I need some help I try to help my father in-law trace his family.he's brother died mid last year and had found lots of the family history but it's no were to be seen. So here we go I have George Fredrick Davidson born 6 Jan 1911 possible in London? mother died at child birth?father in the Black watch? marry Lilian May John in fulham 1938 and live in Watford. If you can help I thank you.

As he was born before the 1911 census - have you looked for him on that census?
mother died at child birth?
If you check freebmd you will find his birth was registered in the Westminster RD and there is a match on the free 1911 index in Westminster which will give you his parents names/ birthyears/birthplaces. His mother was alive at the time of the census

The birth was registered Westminster, London you can apply to the General Records Office for a certificate.
Born 6 Jan 1911 Died Dec 2005 Watford, Hertfordshire, age 94.
None on the 1911 census seem to fit with your information.

There are no female Davidson deaths in either March or June 1/4 of 1911 that fit age wise.

There is a marriage on freebmd in 1909 between a Harry George Davidson and an Ethel Hawkins who may be his parents

There is a death of an Ethel Davidson aged 28 in Chelsea in September quarter 1915. However I can't see the birth of a baby about that time, but of course it could be a stillbirth.

Has anyone found a Harry Davidson in the Black Watch though,don't you have to be Scottish to serve in that regiment?
We really need to hear from Offroad if he/she has a copy of the 1938 marriage cert and if so what other useful info is on it.

That Harry appears to be the youngest son of Joyce Davidson who is widow in 1891 living with her 4 children at Newport Dwellings, Shaftesbury Avenue, St Anne Soho, Westminster.

That link is the one to George's wife,in it you mention that she seems to have been born in 1922.
Nothing asking if the OP has the 1938 marriage cert? That makes Lilian very young to be marrying in 1938 :)

The only Lilian May Davidson death in 1980 was in Northumberland and she was born in 1905

I think you have the wrong Lilian here and really need to buy a copy of the 1938 marriage cert to establish ages and fathers names

A Lillian May Davidson born 26.10.1921 died in 1998 in Surrey but there is no birth reg to connect her to your Lilian (Lillian)
I think you need to start with what you know for certain is correct - probably the 1938 marriage cert - and work backwards from the info on it.
There are quite a few Davidson births between 1939-1950 with a mothers maiden name of John. You can use freebmd to find the christian names to confirm they are the family you are researching

hello everyone long time between drinks life has a way to pass by I am sorry. What I have found out from the father-in-law He had a uncle harry(that match up some information) and his father( youngest child) for some reason was farm out to a aunt?. What side of family I don't know George married Lilian may john in 1938. Her dob is 1907 in wales died in 1989 in Watford. The family possible come from Perthshire Scotland that black watch I cannot confirm any links possible grand father?. The work house is a real possibilities that put family in the dark. I would like thank-you with this search
