Good Evening
Can anyone help looking for Parents of Eliza Turner Morley who married the cricketer William Barnes. Mansfield Nottinghamshire 1881? Many Thanks
-
Have you looked for a birth for her on freebmd? www.freebmd.org.uk
The marriage was before the 1881 census - so have you looked on that census to establish her age and birthplace?
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/2562194?collectionNameFilter=false
Using that information you can look for her on the 1871 census which is free here

A possibility in 1881

1891 gives her age as 35 born Mansfield. Born c1856
-
I have a feeling she was born as Turner - probably illegitimate - and her mother married a Morley
-
Two possibilities - Ann Turner - Francis Morley on same page - Dec qtr 1857
Sarah Turner - Henry Morley on same page Sept qtr 1858
In 1861 - Francis & Ann Morley have a 3yr old daughter Ann Eliza b Mansfield
You need the 1881 marriage cert

There seems to be 2 Francis & Ann Morley's around at the same time. There is also one living on Union St, Sutton in Ashfied in 1861 with daughter Elizabeth aged 3, but she died in 1862.
