What is the link between Joseph Death and the other people you name.

Is Elizabeth the person he marries and is she Smith or Hodgson?

I'm finding it hard to understand the question too.

My tentative interpretation:

Joseph Smith is 11 in 1871 but not found in 1881 - looking for his death.
Elizabeth Smith is 9 in 1871 but not found in 1881 - looking for her marriage or death.

Free BMD has a death for Joseph Smith 1875, Wolverhampton.
Have you checked that?
