Hello, i found some information on my g.g.grandma whom lived in Cork Ireland and in 1921 was arrested for child neglect. Her name was Mary Ellen Mitchell and lived in Thomas Street, Cork, Ireland.
If anyone can help me in finding more info on her or her family would be wonderful and ever so grateful.

You'll have to give us more information because we are only guessing at the moment.
Her husband's name, her children's names.
The best thing to do is start with your grandparent and get their birth cert, than work back from there. Have you got a birth Cert for Mary Ellen's child, your grandparent?
The only place I can think of for more information on the neglect case is newspapers.

Notes from FindMyPast Prison register Mary E Mitchell age 32 height 5 ft 2 inches birthplace North Main St Cork (difficult to read so not definite) residence 10 Thomas St Husband Peter Mitchell S/A address occupation housekeeper - R.C. offence neglect of children sentence 6 months 30/7 21 a note re discharge which is quite faint -it seems to say discharged to Cork District Hospital because of ill health. will try to post here. Sorry not sure how to add. It won't allow me to add as wrong type of file.

Hiya there, yes that info is the same family from the other site I totally forgot about i had that there. I am in the process of getting my nanna's Birth Cert.
