Can anybody shed any light on the family of baby Rupert Lawrie, who died in May 1927 aged 10 months, and is buried not far from the highway near Nundroo Station SA. At his death he was named as Rupert Free Lawrie, son of Michael Free Lawrie. I haven't found his birth, or anything more on his father or who his mother was.
Asking for a family member who visits the grave regularly.
Thanks

There is this marriage:
LAWRIE, William Michael to RICHARDS, Bertha Florence on 28th March, 1923 at the Lutheran Manse, Koonibba. William was a widow aged 49 and Bertha was 20. Koonibba and Nundroo are in the Far West of SA about an hour and half apart, so although the name is a bit different the area matches up.

The death place for Rupert Free Lawrie is given as Fowlers Bay. Again in the far west of SA, about 30 km from Nundroo. The father is listed as Michael Free Lawrie but no mother's name given.

Hi ghostgirl
Lutheran Archives may have a baptism record for Rupert since there were LAWRIE marriages at Koonibba.

Rupert was my grandfather's infant brother, and Rupert was born from his father's second marriage to Florence Bertha Richards at Koonibba Aboriginal Mission. Rupert died as an infant. One of Rupert's survivng sisters (Hazel Coaby nee Lawrie) named her son Rupert "Bunna" Lawrie in memory of her deceased baby Uncle. "Bunna" is alive and living in Melbourne as is known by his Aboriginal name "Bunna". Bunna is the lead singer and founder of Australia's first Aboriginbal rock band known as Coloured Stone, hailing from Koonibba, South Australia. The community of Koonibba is about 120km from where infant Ruport Lawrie is buried (across the road from Colona Station - which is now under the care and control of the Aboriginal Lands Trust of South Australia). If you wnt more info, you can contact Uncle Bunna Lawrie through his Coloured Stone facebook page. If you have any queries I am more than happy to assist.
