Title: Farms near Lapworth and Henley, Warwickshire
Post by: Davedrave on Thursday 31 March 16 17:59 BST (UK)
(Not sure whether I should have posted this under Warwickshire look-ups)

I was wondering whether anyone is familiar with the countryside in the above area.

My ancestors seem to have been tenant farmers at different farms in the above area in the and I am interested to see them, but not if they have been turned into grandiose houses or whatever.

The farms were:

Hole House Farm, Lapworth
Beaudesert Farm
Hill Top Farm
Pink's Farm
Lower Liveridge Hill Farm
Waterloo Farm (though the address for this is Hockley Heath (1911) I think it probably stood near the previous two).

Dave

(sorry, I've also made an error in line 3 of this post, but can't correct it on my iPad!)

This looks like Pinks Farm and Lower Liveridge Hill Farm on a map http://maps.nls.uk/view/101585317#zoom=4&lat=5033&lon=6456&layers=BT

Edit Beaudesert Park is on the southern  edge of the map

Thank you Kay99. Looks like they are quite close to a road. I'll have to go for a "drive" on Google Street View.

It's only £7,000 a month to rent.  What a snip!

Many thanks for these, STG. I think that "farmhouse" is just a bit on the pricey side! I should think that my great grandmother would turn in her grave. (She died aged over 90 in the early '60's.)

Hi Dave,
My name is Sue McKoy, tracing the Chesshire and Hickin families throughout Warwickshire, with the Chesshire's residing at Pinks farm and their neighbours are the Hickens at Lower Liveridge Hill Farm.  I have photos of Pinks farm and can fill you in about a visit my 4th cousin Geoff and I made to that farm.  I am wondering if you are related to either of these families?  I suspect you are related to the Hickins as you mention Waterloo Farm,  where William Hickin and Eleanour Astley ( became Chesshire) farmed with their son George and daughter Charlotte.  Please feel free to get in touch!  I am at the moment trying to find the death details of George and whether he ever married. I am related to both the Chesshires and the Hickins. I am in Melbourne, Australia, but have lived in the UK and started my researching many years ago.
Kind regards, Sue McKoy - suemckoy@gmail.com
