Hello
I am trying to trace information on Joseph J Conway born 20 April 1908 in Dublin.
On his marriage in 1932 in North Yorkshire to Eleanor Lee, he is listed as Joseph.
He died in 1979 and his birth is recorded as 20 April 1908 also recorded as Joseph. However, for his burial he is listed as Joseph JANE Conway possibly an error should be Joseph John ?
I have found a Joseph J on the 1911 census at 4 Fitzwilliam Street aged 3 with his father Thomas and mother Mary Nee Moore. Also older siblings Thomas, Mary and John.
On the 1939 register, James is not recorded with his wife, I believe he is alreading serving in the Forces. However there is a Christopher Conway residing there date of birth 1st March 1913. Could this be the brother of James ? I know no more on Christopher.
Is there any records with James J Conway born 20 April 1908 and Christopher born 1st March 1913 in Dublin ? With the same parents ?
The family do state James was from the Sandymount area.
Any help or suggestions please.
Regards
Andy

Thanks very, very much for the replies.
Regarding 1901 was Thomas Conway possibly working away from home as this looks very promising Mary Conway living next door to his parents ? Thomas their first born was not born till 26 July 1901.
Marriage in 1899 ties in nicely with the 1911 census. Which shows Mary and Thomas and the children. And Michael Conway also in separate census for 1911 are you saying this is Thomas brother ?
Conway/Ryan census in 1901 unsure what you are suggesting here ?
Mary born 1902 and listed on the 1911 census is the only child/sibling I can find no recorded birth for.
Any suggestions please keep them coming I do so appreciate it.

Mary Conway wife of Michael Ryan in 1901 is living in same house as Mary Moore wife of Thomas Conway
see house and building return for number 169
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003695620/
Michael Ryan died 1904 age about 35 and is buried in Glasnevin
Mary Ryan then moved in with her sister and brother Michael Conway and Margaret Chamberlain
Margaret Conway married Archibald Chamberlain in Bristol Parish 30 Nov 1895
Thomas Conway their father may also have been in the military as his children born in various countries
if you get Thomas Conway and Mary Moore's marriage cert you will get both father's names and their addresses at time of marriage

wow its amazing...sometimes you need take a step back...I didnt ha ha, I appreciate all your help :)
