My Canadian contact (cousin) has now sent the chart made up by his grandmother it shows William Davies born 27 dec 1829 Llangolman died 15 Feb 1892 ( had a heart attack while feeding chickens)
we know he lived in Michaelstone Super Avon in 1891
Annoyingly I can't find a suitable registration for that death
The chart also shows his wife Elizabeth nee Jones born 22 Jul 1829 Llangynog and dying ( as Elizabeth DAVIES) 11 Mar 1894 again this we would expect to be Michaelstone Super Avon and again we can not find any sign of a suitable death ( we have in the past sent for a certificate for an Elizabeth Davies who died Q2 1891 Neath but sadly this is definitely not our Elizabeth
Can anyone help find either of these burials please
We have also drawn a complete blank on finding their births. From their marriage certificate his father should be Benjamin and hers Evan
Its a real mystery and I am desperate to get a break through with either or both of them

Don't forget that deaths are registered in the district in which the death occurred - not necessarily the home district!
And ages are those supplied by the surviving relatives (or other informant).
I can't see a William Davies, age 62, Death in 1892?
Does your cousin have the Death Certificates? If so, can they supply any details from them - such as Registration District?!

I looked at that death too The Canadian Cousin had his information from his grand mother, a daughter in law of William and Elizabeth she too is sadly no longer with us. I think I will send for the Dec qtr certificates for Bridgend and Neath districts . Lets hope one takes us a step further but I am not sure how we will be able to tell if it is the correct William. The certificate we had originally sent for, for Elizabeth had the informant as husband with a different christian name so that was definitely wrong and it would appear that Elizabeth out lived William anyway.But why can't we find a registration of death?its so frustrating we have them on censuses and their marriage I even have a photo of elizabeth but we have no birth or death records for either of them

Is there someone called John Roberts in the family. Ancestry has a probate record for a William Davies died 15 Feb 1891 probate to John Roberts.

Not sure if I'm being thick but presumably you know where he lived in 1891 from the census?
Which would rule out these Q1 1891 deaths

oh so they also had feb 15 but a year out that is interesting but no Roberts that I know of I think if the date from Canada is right probate would be to his wife or possibly a son in law either a F.T.McMullin or a T. Jones his sons had all emigrated to Canada in 1886. but how interesting that the date was 15 Feb Oh and yes they are both on the 1891 census in Michaelstone Super Avon

Probate is granted to the executors of an estate, and not to the beneficiaries. ;D
The executors may be family, but equally they may not be family.
