Title: Falkenecker of Heutingsheim, Germany
Post by: briankaess on Tuesday 19 April 16 20:05 BST (UK)
Anna Berta Falkenecker (1890-1970) hailed from Heutingsheim, Kreis Ludwigsburg, Germany. She was married to Friedrich Emil Kaess (1889-1968) on Mar 29 1913 in Benningen am Neckar, Germany and they had four children: Emil, Bertha, Paul, and Elsa. They celebrated their 50th 'Golden' wedding anniversary on Mar 31 1963 in Benningen. Anna Berta Falkenecker was born on May 11 1890 in Heiutingsheim, Germany, and died on May 15 1970. She was baptized May 25 1890 in the Lutheran Church of Heutingsheim. Anna Berta Falkenecker came from a long line of Falkenecker’s in Heutingsheim. Anna Berta Falkenecker’s parents were Johann Albert Falkenecker (b. Jan 22 1856) and Dorothea Karoline Geissel (bapt. Jan 11 1863 in Metterzimmern). They married on Apr 2 1888 in Heutingsheim. Johann Albert Falkenecker was baptized on Jan 27 1856 in the Lutheran Church of Heutingsheim.
The parents of Johann Albert Falkenecker were Johann Georg Falkenecker Jr. (b. Apr 22 1825 in Germany) and Anna Maria Manz. Johann Georg Falkenecker Jr. was christened Lutheran on Apr 27 1825 in Heutingsheim.  He married Anna Maria Manz on Jun 9 1851 in Heutingsheim. The parents of Johann Georg Falkenecker Jr. were Johann Georg Falkenecker Sr. (b. abt 1800) and Maria Friederika Schmid  (b. Nov 20 1801 in Magstadt, Germany).
The parents of Dorothea Karoline Geissel  were Johannes Geissel  (b. Mar 22 1827 in Metterzimmern, Germany) and Eva Dorothea Rapp (b. Nov 23 1829 in Nellmersbach, Gemany). They married on Nov 24 1857 in Metterzimmern. The parents of Johannes Geissel were Georg Friedrich Geissel (1800-1844) and Elisabethe Friedrike Hoerer  (b. Oct 7 1805). They married on Jan 14 1827 in Metterzimmern.
The parents of Eva Dorothea Rapp were Georg Jakob Rapp and Eva Dorothea Schaefer.
Anna Berta (Falkenecker) Kaess was known as 'Berta' to her German family. This was probably a rufname or 'preferred name.' Her first name or 'church' name was Anna.
What I'm looking for is any info on the siblings of Anna Berta Falkenecker.

The person you mention had a similar name as Anna Berta Falkenecker, but was a distinct and different person, as far as I can tell. Since both their last names were Falkenecker and they hail from the same village (Heutingsheim) during roughly the same time period, then it is certainly very likey that they were related, perhaps as Cousins.

Hi Brian,

Anna (Johanna) and Johann are not 'rufnamen'.

In those centuries almost all German (protestant) babies got the name Johann/(Joh)Anna.

It has been the 'beautiful name' (der schöne Name), relating to Johann the Evangelist.

So Berta (Al-berta) was called Berta and her father Albert.

Regards Rudolf

Johann Albert Falkenecker (1856-1940) died on Mar 2 1940 in Heutingsheim, Germany - the town where he was born. His parents are clearly mentioned as Johann Georg Falkenecker (Jr.) and Anna Maria Manz. His spouse is Dorothea Karoline Geissel.

In the town lineage book for Heutingsheim, there is a notice that two Falkeneckers were in the bike club in 1906. Gustav and Karl Falkenecker established (with some others) this Club.
And Eugen Ernst Falkenecker 1899 died in WWI in 1918.
Title: Geisel /Geiselman Research
Post by: briankaess on Monday 26 February 18 20:26 GMT (UK)
The Geisel’s were ancestors to the Falkenecker’s. The surname Geisel is found in the Dictionary of German-Jewish Surnames. Geisel is also found in databases at Jewish Gen. Geiselman and Geisel were variants of each other.
There was a  Johann Michael Geiselman (August 15, 1719 in Beihingen (OA. Ludwigsburg), Württemberg, Germany - 1785 in  York, Pennsylvania).  The Geiselman clan may have been started in Southern Germany by one husband and wife. They may have been Jewish but converted to Catholism before 1600.
One wonders about the connection between the Geiselman’s of Beihingen am Neckar and Geisel’s of Metterzimmern, Germany. The towns are nearby to each other. The latter group merged with the Falkenecker's.

Title: Konfirmation Record of Anna Berta Falkenecker at FHL
Post by: briankaess on Friday 28 October 22 23:31 BST (UK)
There is information on a Konfirmation Record of Anna Berta Falkenecker (1890-1970) (married name Kaess) from FHL in Salt Lake City. They say,"I found your ancestor's {Anne Berta Falkenecker) confirmation in Film#101831984, Image 312. In addition, I also found her sibling on Image 311 and, I believe, 3 cousins on Images 309, 311, and 314. The information on the confirmation records provided sufficient information to go to film#101831983 to find their birth/baptism records on images 747, 759, 763, 769, and 784. The fathers were both from the same place and served as witnesses for the baptisms."
