Title: john Cregan & Margaret Kiernan/kearnan
Post by: karencregan on Wednesday 20 April 16 13:03 BST (UK)
Hi I finally found my great great grand parents they are John Cregan and Margaret Kiernan and all I know is that they had a son in 1870/71 and he was married in Navan in 1892. I cant find any more info and them. Ive searched some parish records but I dont even know if Im in the correct parish. Can anyone give me another avenue to go down.

Is it definitely John not James? This Navan RC register has an April 1853 marriage of James Cregan to Margaret Kiernan, witnesses Michael Cregan and Anne Owens (right page, 8th entry down):

Gaffy, That could be him that could be why I couldnt find him. Its just on his sons marriage certificate his name is John thats where I was getting it but he couldve been john james or vice a versa. Im just not sure. I just know his wife is definatly a kiernan coz they are all buried in the same plot.
