Title: Looking for details of George Kear apparently in Compton Abdale graveyard
Post by: gwilliams3 on Wednesday 04 May 16 08:17 BST (UK)
GreatGrand Father , George Kear, is apparently buried in Compton Abdale grave yard. I wonder if anyone is able to confirm this / find his grave and what might be inscribed on it.

The story is he was wounded in the first world war, in 1914 came home but then died later of his injuries.

Thanks in advance,

Geoff

Don't know if this is your man

George Kear, a Porter, aged 37 of 8 Nailsworth Terrace buried at Chelthenham 15 April 1915 in plot B1 41.

I checked the cwgc website and he isn't listed but should be if he had died of his injuries upto 1921

There may not be any burials at Compton Abdale after 1866, the register stops abruptly with empty pages.

Have you tried contacting the church?
