His memorial at Find A Grave & his WWII Enlistment Record indicates he was born in Arizona

Find A Grave : http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=3628600

WWII Enlistment Record : https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K8BW-8R8

=======

This appears to be him with his family in 1930 & 1940 census.

1930: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XH1S-Q8Y

1940: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VYWY-913

====================

I think I see were you got the  birth being in Santa Clara.

The "Home of Record City/County" is were the person was living or residing, not their place of birth. It appears he was living in Santa Clara and enlisted at  San Francisco which isn't too far away.

Typically, the military service records are available through the National Archives and can be ordered for a fee.  Unfortunately, a lot of WWII-era records were destroyed by a fire.

More information here - https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records#table-of-contents

Hi aussiegirl,

This is my great uncle I believe (my moms uncle).  My moms family has not been good about records and that information about that generation is sparse because most of them are deceased or have dementia. I really don’t know if there is more information that I could gather that could be of help to you.  From what I think I know, he did serve in Northern Ireland.

Hello,

I believe this may be my grandmother's brother. He was born in Arizona. If this is him, he had 5 siblings, my grandmother was the youngest. He had an brother in San Jose area. Please reply, I'm definitely interested in knowing if it is him. I also have his dog tags so we can match up any info
