Hi
Is it possible for someone to look up a buriel for Charles Hunt and his wife Mary Elizabeth Hunt, before hunt she was Wharton, and her maiden name is James.
They married in 1895 on the Isle of Man, andthey are listed in 1901 and 1911 census in Douglas.
Thank!!

Is Jurby on the IOM? And is there. Buriel records?

Yes Jurby is a parish on the Isle of Man and has a parish church with a cemetery. I got the basic burial information from the members area of the IOM Family History Society website. It doesn't give a residence at time of death but there should be a burial record that records it and it should be on the death certificate. The Manx Museum has a record office in Douglas, IOM with books of transcripts of burials and grave inscriptions that might tell you more.
Do you have this? The original image of the 1895 marriage:-

You could try asking if anyone can tell you more about Charles Hunt's burial record and whether there is a gravestone inscription here:-

Parish Registers have only been transcribed up to 1883.
For later records, the actual Register has to be read at the Manx Museum Library.
The alternative is to take a look, in person, at the Death Certificate entry (if allowed) The Registries, in Douglas, Isle of Man.
It's TT this week, so everything is a little hectic ;D
PM me next week if you haven't found what you want, and I'll see what I can do.
(I live just a few minutes walk from both The Registries and the Manx Museum)
-
Thanks Blue,
Can I ask where you looked for the original of the marriage certificate please?
yes i think i will ask for Charles and Marys...

Hi :)
Yes please i would like a look up of the buriel record of Charles Hunt, and anything else they may have in connection with Charles and Mary Elzabeth Hunt, Mary had a daughter 2 years before they got married, but the father isn't Hunt its Wharton.
Daughters name Sarah Louisa Wharton, she may be mentioned somewhere.
Thanks so much for your time and effort!!

The Jurby (burial) Parish Register is still with the church!
But I was able to look at the entries at The Registry (the Manx equivalent of GRO):
Charles Hunt, date of death 20th April 1938, aged 71 years
Residing at The Old School House, Jurby. Occupation: Porter
Informant was the widow, Mary Ann Hunt, also of The Old School House
From the marriage entry:
24th November 1895, at St Barnabas, Douglas by licence
Charles Hunt, age 34, Widower, Mariner, of Runcorn Cheshire.
Father: George Hunt, Sculptor
Mary Elizabeth Wharton, age 34, Widow, of Strand Street Douglas
Father: John James, Master Mariner
I have photographs of the entry should you require them.
Just PM me your email address.
Have to say that it worries me that the bride and the widow have different names?
