Title: Desktop screen text has different colours
Post by: heywood on Tuesday 07 June 16 16:50 BST (UK)
Hello,

All of a sudden the text under the icons on my desktop home screen is showing different colours.
If I open a document or look at other texts, it is mainly black but there is something not quite right.
I have tried searching for this but most things seem to refer to changing colour in text not this fault which I seem to have.
I don't use the desktop much and it is quite old but was updated to Windows 10 a while ago.
Is there anything to be done please?

Regards
Heywood

Is it a flat screen or  a big old thing screen?

Check the connectors.

It's a flat screen - I will do that re the connectors, thanks. I hope it is that simple.
I am off out now though so it will be later on.

Hi again,

I tried connections - all seems well.
Background photo is fine. This typing in black but the odd letter looks bold and/or fuzzy.
The type under the icons on the desktop are also multi coloured.
It's just all a bit odd!

The next step  may be to buy a new lead to connect the display screen to the desktop unit.      Worth doing that before you buy a new display screen, I guess?

fingers crossed - after much searching and getting nowhere. I have used the Menu button on the monitor and gone to 'factory reset' and it looks good  :D

Thanks for your interest.
