hope you  can help im looking for info regarding William j downing family from llanelly he married Florence Elizabeth harris in 1920 they may be related to my grand dad Thomas Frederick harris

It seems William from birthdate was born Wolverhampton Reg District, it is the only William J in timescale to fit.

If you wish to persue his family you will need the marriage cert info for father to confirm.

It's on the original thread  Sept Qtr 1895, cannot give full birthdate from 1939 as against Rootschat policy, you knew the birthdate of Florence so I just confirmed what you knew.

in 1939 William j downing and Florence e downing nee harris were living in this area I would like to know if there had any children  and if there is any downing living there now

Unable to post look up 39 against Rootchat policy.  Found this death, fits with dob

Death - William Joseph Downing, born 29 June 1895, died Qtr 1, 1990 Llanelly vol 24 page 2197

No matches on www.freebmd.org for surname Downing, MMN Harris in Carmarthen 1920-1939, although there is one record closed for this family, maybe possible child?

There are Downings in area recently, on electrol list etc, but no way of knowing if connected.

I am sorry, I cannot confirm who Williams parents are just by census, if you wish to get a lead, you need the birth and/or marriage cert to confirm parents/fathers name, occupation etc. Other than that it's just a guess.

Have you tried looking for a bapt? Maybe with possible bapt you can compare with census.

As mentioned the only birth reg to fit with name and DOB on www.freebmd.org
