The above father was my father with whom I lost contact in the 1970's when my mother married my stepfather. I only found out a couple of years ago that he had died. I would be be pleased to hear from anybody who was related to my father or who knew him.

Hi
It might be an idea to buy a copy of his death cert as it would show who reported his death and their relationship to him in case he re-married

Bang goes that theory then!!
There is no probate entry for him as a will may have given some clues.
-
Grace - you could try putting an appeal in the local newspaper. That is the one which covers the area where he died.
-
Pennines, I have tried that without any success.

I am so sorry about that - very disappointing for you.
I have no idea how to go about finding Jamaican births - but it might be worth looking into that - to see if he had any siblings - who may have had children over here.

I have found on FamilySearch the birth record of Ellsworth Arthur Morales on 11th June 1929 (the correct date) the son of Ethel Morales (no father) at 2 Little Water Street, Kingston, Jamaica. The birth was registered by Octavius Clarke, the occupier of 2 Little Water Street. I think that this is his birth. When he came to England in the 1950's he was using the surname Clarke.

Oh well done! Thank you for the update.
It may be useful for you to see if you can find a marriage for Ethel --- and whether she had any children from that marriage. They would be your father's half brothers or sisters. Maybe, just maybe, you might them and be able to make contact.
Good Luck with your difficult search.
