I am confused (again).. I think I found a baptismal record for my 2nd gr grandfather in Kerry Ireland but the surnames for his parents are different to his. Is this just an error and the father was James Murphy, mother Maria Leahy? Plse See below:
Name: Thade Murphy
Event Type: Baptism
Baptism Date: 17 Jan 1833
Baptism Place: Killeentierna, Kerry, Ireland
Diocese: Kerry
Father: James Leahy
Mother: Maria Leahy
As always, thanks in advance for any help offered:)

None of the parents match...

Could it be that they have just listed the father's first name as his surname would be the same as the child being baptised and given the mother's maiden name?

Yes, groom, I have seen that before and, I think, queried on here.

Pity all baptisms don't do that, it would be a great help. ;)

Thanks:)
I am working on the premise that the parents are James and Maria Murphy nee Leahy but I just wanted to make sure that nothing else was going on I should take note of:)

Hallmark - I just clicked on your link. It looks like it was more of a transcription error on Ancestry. Thanks for that:)
One step closer.....
