I have recently returned from Ireland with limited information concerning a Great Grand Uncle. Edward Richard Graham was born 1911 in Dingle, Co. Kerry and married a Barbara Mitchell, date unknown and location. They lived in Sligo and both were tragically killed while riding their bikes homes from work. The dates I don't know, but if they married in their 20's it could have been anytime after 1931 and onward. Can anyone advise how I could find out if this story would have been in the papers or a death notice published and how to go about making inquiries about this story? Any advice or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

The Civil Registration indexes are free to search, up to 1958 for Republic of Ireland.
If/When you find marriage and death date it would help narrow date range for account of the accident.

Only 2 deaths for a Barbara Graham in Civil Reg (irishgenealogy.ie)

Edward Richard Graham birth is recorded in Dingle Co Kerry 1911. (mother WEBB)
An Edward Richard Graham sailed from Belfast on the Montcalm to Quebec, 23 Jun 1928. aged 17, born Dingle Co Kerry. Fare paid by father James Graham of 16 Oakley St, Ballysillan, Belfast and going to sister Mrs W Stewart of 33009 Wellington Street, Verdun, Montreal.
Perhaps he married Barbara Mitchell in Canada as can see no record of it in Ireland up to 1958.

This looks like his death:
Irish Independent Monday, November 28 1955
ROAD ACCIDENTS MAYO MAN FATALLY INJURED
Edward Graham (46) , married and a painter by profession, died In Castlebar Hospital, where he was taken with Injuries received when he was struck by a car on the Corballa Ballina Road
Mrs, Graham, who was cycling home with her husband was unhurt deceased also leaves five children.
There was an inquest in December and that names his wife as Catherine, not Barbara.

1 for an Edward but none for a Barbara.

Probably a different one as they lived in Sligo and both were tragically killed while riding their bikes homes from work.

I've been thinking for some hours that the wife's name must be incorrect, so that Mayo one looks good to me. At least worth following up.
Mayo, Sligo easy to mix up.

Yes, family stories can get a bit muddled at times a bit like Chinese whispers ;D
-
With an inquest and paper work to delay things I'd say this is the Mayo Edward's death
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FTR9-K3D age has shifted a bit but I'm fairly sure if there is an inquest the coroner's office registers the death which could explain the difference.

Not sure you are still looking for information but just in case...
