Hi can anyone find marriage record for Michael Goodman born Louth 1802 and Ann ( don`t know surname ) she was born 1805 Louth. Hoping they were married in Louth.

Registration of non-Catholic marriages started 1846 (Catholic ones from 1864) but if they were born in early 1800s then likely married before those dates and you'll need to see if a church record survives. Many Catholic parish registers are now online (free) but not indexed-

Thank you. Had a look but could not find record. A lady sent me a record of marriage between Michael Goodman and Ann Burns 22/02/1824 Aghaderg Down. Not familiar with this location Do you know if it is located near Louth ? Armagh ?

The information you were given was probably from this site-
Michael GOODMAN . Aghaderg married Anne Burns 22 Feb 1824 at an Aghaderg Catholic Church
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/SURNAMES/G/Go.htm
Aghaderg is the name of the Catholic Parish- marriages 1816-1839, 1839-1876 as well as lots of other records-

Good find dathai.
HO107; Piece: 2178; Folio: 674; Page: 25 has Michael 40 Ann 46 & Francis 19 all born Louth [transcribed South on ancestry], Ireland. If Francis' Louth baptism ca 1831 could be found, it should give Ann's maiden name.

ADDED same family in 1841 HO107; Piece: 556; Folio: 21; Page: 35. There is a son John aged 15 so marriage probably around 1824/5.

Thank you Josey.Have not got sub to Ancestry so could not search for baptism record for Francis.
-
I doubt it would be on ancestry - think you will need to browse the Louth parishes in turn for the relevant year/s (John ca 1825, Francis ca 1831) on the website given by aghadowey.

The link I posted earlier was for Aghaderg (Catholic) Parish records- the marriage was very easily found since Ros Davies' site already listed the date-
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633237#page/76/mode/1up
You can browse through the baptisms to see what children they might have had baptised thre.

Thank You. Much obliged.
-
Remember that marriages usually take place in the bride's church so even if you don't find Michael's family there you may find Ann's relatives in those church records.
-
Thank you for your help. My eyesight isn`t too good so I was unable to read marriage details.
