Good evening
My Irish ancestry has proved to be a challenge and I was wondering if anyone can help me please.
My 2x great grandfather Michael Igoe was born circa 1833 in County Roscommon. My family know that he married Anne Hanley, but we can find neither his baptism or marriage. We known he was born around 1833 has this is indicated on the 1901 census which shows that he was living in County Longford. Also his death entry of 1909 indicated a birth year of around 1833. I'm looking for Michael's parents as well. When I have been researching, I have found a few potential fathers for Michael but any of them could be his Dad. Michael and Anne had my great grandmother Teresa as well as other children including Daniel, Patrick J and James. If anyone can help, I would be grateful. Cary Beth. :)

Thank you for replying to my post. This entry is a different county and the marriage is too late for my great great grandfather.

It will be church records so..
http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0146 and surrounding Parishes in Longford, as she was from Longford (and presuming she wasn't living in Dublin, for example, when she married)

Hello Cary Beth,
this is the first baptism I can see up to now - Francis in 1859 - the parish is Clongish
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632397#page/20/mode/1up
so you are looking for a marriage pre 1859.
There are several baptisms in this parish 1859- 1877 ending with Teresa - all with residence Kilmore.
look for these baptisms (Latin names) as sponsors could be relatives which might help you.
Michaelis Igo 29th October 1865
Maria Igo 15th March 1868
Patritius Joseph Igo 11th September 1870
James Igo 29th September 1872
Franciscus Igoe 3rd June 1859
Thomas Igoe 6th January 1861
Teresa Igoe 4th November 1877
