My previous posting was of Thomas, his siblings and Parents.
I have an MI of one of his children Sarah it reads as follows.
"In loving memory of Sarah the beloved daughter of Thomas and Mary Monkman of Wetwang who died may 3rd 1905 in her 32nd year. Erected by A. Cunningham
Lost awhile our treasured love Gain'd for ever safe above"
PR 1905 may 5 Sarah Monkmon, Harrogate 31

I made a mistake sorry Thomas father should have read
Robert Monkman 40 Malton and not Thomas

Yes that would make sense. By the way, I visited the church at Wetwang a few weeks ago but couldn't find graves for any of the Monkman family.

Hi Diane,
There are two gravestones at Wetwang for the Monkman's; Sarah died 3 May 1905, & Thomas & Hannah 4 may 1890 & 27 mar 1860.
I have photo's some where if you want I go there now and again when I have been to Nafferton.

D1ANE or dortmund - either of you have a listing for Doris E Monkman, married 1929 in Malton? Separately, don't know how far back your trees go - ever hear of any Monkman ancestors or relatives who went to North America - perhaps 1845? I have notes on a son, William Henry, born in Ontario 1861 - and a Charles born there, 1859.
