Hi All,
I believe two of my GG Grandparents may have been married at the Immanuel Church in Fauls in around 1876, does anyone know where I might be able to find parish records for this church or whether they even exist?

" FAULS, a chapelry in the parish of Prees, hundred of North Bradford, county Salop, 2½ miles S.E. of Prees, and 4 N.E. of Wem. Shrewsbury is its post town. It includes the townships of Darleston, Fauls, Mickley, and Sandford. Here is a district church, the living of which is a perpetual curacy* in the diocese of Lichfield, value £50, in the gift of the vicar of the parish. The church is a neat brick structure."
So, you would probably need to look at Prees parish records?
I think marriages had to take place at a Parish Church (Prees in this case), whereas baptisms and burials could take place in a chapelry?
Shropshire Archives only holds banns for Fauls.

I would suggest that you look at FreeBMD in the first instance, to find the year and Registration District. The Registration District can then be accessed to pinpoint the towns covered. Then perhaps if you look on ShropshireBMD, you will be able to find the church they married in. Certainly Prees is included in the locations.

In the 19th Century some existing chapelries became licensed to perform marriages.

Fauls became an Ecclesiastical Parish 7th November 1871.
