Title: Morrish School, Kilninian & Kilmore
Post by: Grey Seagull on Saturday 10 September 16 20:55 BST (UK)
Hi,

Have a place of birth in 1909 given as Morrish School Kilninian & Kilmore.

Place of registration looks like Anitrim or Auitrim.

Anyone got any idea where the school and the registrar's office was?

:)

Hello,

Likely the place you want is Antuim (pronounced like an-time), which is a farm. My father lived there with Fletcher relatives and went to school nearby during the WWII years. I must do more digging but could it say something like Morrison School? What names are you looking for? My great great aunt, Catherine McKinnon, married James McDougall, a teacher, at Treshnish in 1866. They were both natives of Kilninian.
