Has anyone seen a copy of Alfred UDALE born Wirksworth c 1850 Birth Certificate?
As his mother had been a widow for 7 years his father's name is unlikely to be UDALE.
Grateful for any help.

Haven't seen it but you could order it using details below. Not too likely a father would be named if mum was a widow at the time.
Jun 1850
Belper 19 548
Udale Alfred
Baptism 12 May 1850
Mother Millicent Udale
Millicent is boarding with or has boarding with her a John Frost in later census, maybe he had something to do with Alfred :-X

Alfred married a Sarah Brooks or Spencer in 1874. I wonder if he named a father on his marriage certificate.

There is a transcription of his marriage:-
1874 Jul 13
UDALE Alfred (Wirksworth), Labourer, / BROOKS Sarah (Middleton)
Fathers: Millicent UDALE, / Edward BROOKS, Miner
Witnesses: John Wm BROOKS, Elizabeth BROOKS
My great grandfather also gave his mother's name on his marriage certificate and had no father on his birth certificate. I suspect that there is no father on Alfred's certificate.
