Does anyone know whether asylums at Sneinton and Mapperly still stand? I've been looking for present day photos I find the places to be of real interest and wondered if they have been converted into flats.
Thanks!

A simple Google search uncovered these two items.

Thank you for posting the articles, but I have actually found these articles myself. The one regarding Sneinton Asylum does not say if it was demolished or if it still stands. The second one about Mapperly states it shut years ago, but that parts are still used. What happened to the other buildings?
I would not post on here if I had not looked for information myself.

"Nottingham Asylum at Sneinton then closed down, but for many years one wing of the building was used by the Dakeyne Street Boys’ Club. All that is left now is one pillar on Dakeyne Street."
This is at the end of the article.
"I would not post on here if I had not looked for information myself."
Lots of people do though ;)

The "Lunatic Hospital" is just south of the Asylum.
(you can trace the outlines of the buildings with your cursor to give some idea of what remains of the original building/s)
You could check google street view to see what still stands today.

The one in Mapperley still stands - it is on Porchester Road and is still there ......a sinister looking building for Alchoholics......
