The perils of not proofreading before posting information (from myheritage)
MyHeritage - trusted by millions of genealogists since 2003
Cicely Sandys (born Wilsford), Circa 1536 - 1611
Cicely Sandys (born Wilsford) was born circa 1536, at birth place, Kentucky, to Thomas Wilsford and Rose Wilsford (born Whetenhall).
Spot the glaring error. (trusted by millions of genealogists :o) Ah, the irony!

Ha. :) I saw that too and kept digging. I found she was born in Cranbrook, Kent, England.

That would be the 'ucky' part of Kent then :-\

I doubt the Cranbrook of today bears much semblance to Cranbrook in her day. Looking at the area in Google Maps it looks to me like it was covered in forest and farmland. Probably quite nice.

My family tree is firmly rooted in Kent (see below).
When searching on the internet, MyHeritage usually insists my ancestors were born in Kentucky!

Maybe I should have said '-ucky' :(

How do you enter the information? Do you write it as "Town, Kent, England" or just "Town, Kent"?. If it's the latter then MyHeritage is reading Kent as an abbreviation of Kentucky. I always add the country to my place names to avoid this problem.

When googling specific people, either because they are interesting characters or trying to solve brickwalls etc.
MyHeritage often presents a Family Tree.
Here is a example:
https://www.myheritage.com/names/thomas_stratford
The result presented for various Thomas Stratford persons mentions Kent and Kentucky in the same data set.
Referring to other websites will give a correct solution of just Kent.
